Morgan's second
album is nearly an hour of light jazz with a tropical flavor and hints of Latin and
Caribbean rhythms and instrumentation. This project offers twelve tracks that center
around Morgans composition, keyboard and guitar talents along with the saxophone
talents of Bill Sidney. Listeners will be treated to a musical journey that ranges from
emotional piano pieces to high-energy island-style jazz that rocks. This project is a collaboration among the long-time members of The Peter Morgan band. Morgan composed, arranged and produced much of the album along with friend and saxophonist Bill Sidney (Garcia Brothers Band). Sidney is a seasoned session and showcase player whose roots lie in jazz and rock while Morgan contributes elements of R&B, Rock, country and jazz. The convergence of these two musicians creates a unigue blend of music. Morgans instrumental versatility is showcased by performances on acoustic, electric, lap and pedal steel guitars as well as harmonica, bass, keyboards, guitar synthesizer and percussion. The CD also showcases some of Sacramento areas finest musicians. The band has "road-tested" much of this new material to warm receptions opening shows for some of the biggest names in jazz including Fattburger, trumpeter Chris Botti and keyboardist Phillipe Saisse. |
